The problem lies when they're used commercially aka when others use my work to make a profit for themselves without permission/licensing.
✅ Using a Chubby Bird as reference for a tattoo
🚫 Tattoo artists using Chubby Birds on their wall to sell/advertise
✅ Using Chubby Birds for your personal pfp
🚫 Using them as a logo for your business
✅ Making a gift for a friend
🚫 Making merch and products to sell
✅ Making fan art to share online
🚫 Claiming Chubby Birds are you own creation
✅ Making your own unique kawaii birds
🚫 Removing the watermark (sometimes people share images with watermarks removed, pls don't bully them).
I very rarely license Chubby Birds.
If they are on Temu, Amazon, Wish, etc. they're bootleg.
'tis the nature of the being a creator on the internet. Bootlegs won't stop me from creating. If you're a creator, it shouldn't stop you either. It sucks, but keep on scooting!
If someone orders items from these corporations, especially not knowingly, pls don't bully. Let them enjoy the Chubby Birds.
Kawaii Birdies Book, Myrightbird.com, Boutique Sweet Birdie, Redbubble, Spoonflower, Suzuri, and Minne are the only sites I currently use and are connected to me with the birdhism handle.
If something looks handmade, they might have purchased my fabric from spoonflower, this is ok.

If you got a tattoo, buying a tattoo token is not mandatory. If you have the means and the heart to, it is much appreciated. I'm full time artist on a mission and everything is expensive, so anything helps.
