🌸👩⚕️👩🎨 I am a woman who believes medical professionals are better qualified to manage our care rather than politicians. I believe in equal pay for equal work, the right to divorce (I’m a divorcee btw), and financial aid for childcare even though I’m a “childless bird lady.”
Education is top tier focus. Good teachers should be paid a fair, living wage as a base with bonuses tied to student success. A quality education system for all can change the world for the better.
💸 I was raised with financial means until age 11. At age 16, I had to work after school at a flower shop (OJT) to help my family with my meager $80 paycheck (helped with groceries at least). I still have my broken pair of glasses with the arms that were held on with black tape. I keep them to remember various things I went through and how I managed to make it past 16… Poverty messes families up, yo. I can confirm, it’s so very difficult to break from the cycle of poverty. Sometimes, no matter how hard you work, you never leave it. *Mental Healthcare saved my life.* Due to "The bad times" I became a cutter in high school and mental health services supplied by the government were not perfect, but helped. There is no shame in seeking mental health aid! Honestly, you should hold that with pride that you did something to better yourself and possibly those around you. I worked part time through college. If I couldn’t get a ride from dad or friends, I had to ride the city bus 3 hours through rough neighborhoods to get to the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. I did well in college and received a scholarship from the school to help a little. My AS cost $22k vs $36k. I paid for all of my own bills since age 16 including my student loans, phones, cars, rent, everything. I didn't get a car or cell phone until age 21 when I was hired as an Art Director after college. I can confirm, there is no glory in prolonged suffering, mostly just trauma. I wish we did more to prevent it for others in the name of compassion.
I’m kind of an open book and from these experiences I speak (screm)…
